HAMILTON – Colgate lifts the lid on its 2018 cross country schedule with the Harry Lang Invitational here Saturday.

The Harry Lang Cross Country Course, high atop the Colgate University campus, is the site once again for this 19th annual event. Teams from Colgate, Syracuse and selected individuals are expected to compete.

The Colgate women a large group of experienced runners for the 2018 season, including seven seniors and a key contributor in junior Vicky Martinez.
Luke Burdick, Associate Head Coach of Cross Country and Track and Field, high expectations entering his third season in Hamilton.

"This team is laden with veteran talent," Burdick said. "We lost Patriot League scorer Tina Bowers and a couple of other talented runners last year, but we have a great stable of rising seniors ready to lead."

First-year Sophia Manners is expected to be the team's top newcomer.
The Colgate men have a young roster after graduating five seniors from last year's team. Burdick and the Raiders welcome back 10 letterwinners, but only one rising senior in
Jonathan Abbott.

"We have very young team this year as we are returning only one senior," Burdick said. "We will be counting on a few younger runners to pick up the slack and make a few strides this season."

Dillon Aryeh is expected to be the team's top newcomer.

Saturday's races begin at 11:30 a.m. for the women and 12:15 p.m. for the men.
