MYRTLE BEACH, S.C – The outdoor track and field season is officially underway for the Colgate Raiders as they wrapped up a successful showing at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite hosted by Coastal Carolina University.
Tina Bowers (West Reading, Pennsylvania) broke her own program record in the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase, surpassing her previous record by more than a second at this weekend's invite. Bowers ran it in 11:27.27, besting her time of 11:28.45 from the 2016 season.
The invite spanned three days, beginning Thursday with the 10,000-meter races and ended Saturday evening.
TOP PERFORMANCES
-Bowers finished fifth in the 3,000-Meter Steeplechase with her personal record time of 11:27.27 to break her own school record.

Skyler Berardi (Glen Mills, Pennsylvania) ran the mile in 5:21.24 and finished first in her heat of the event

Meghan DioGuardi (Hornell, New York) competed in the 5,000-Meter Race, completing the race with a time of 19:42.09 and finished in 19th place

Megan Maloney (Bridgeton, New Jersey) recorded a javelin throw of 27.47 meters to finish in 26th
-
Carly Schwartz (Armonk, New York) rounded out Colgate's top performers in the 400-Meter Race in 1:01.80
