PAXTON, Mass. – The Colgate women's tennis team opened up Patriot League play Sunday afternoon as they swept Holy Cross, 7-0, at the Paxton Tennis and Fitness Club.
Five different Raiders picked up a pair of wins on the afternoon in the victory while
Stephanie Fuentes (Far Hills, New Jersey) earned her first win of the season.
The Raiders cruised to the doubles point with three wins as
MacKenzie Deeter (Wadsworth, Ohio) and
Jordan Williams (Fort Washington, Maryland) teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles and
Kelly Klein (Ross, California) and
Cheyenne Brown (Dayton, New Jersey) combined to win at No. 2 doubles.
Lauren O'Brien (Leawood, Kansas) and Fuentes secured the doubles sweep with a win at No. 3 doubles.
Colgate continued its dominance in singles as the Raiders picked up three early victories to clinch the match. Williams and Klein picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, before O'Brien won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles to earn the victory. Deeter rounded out Colgate's top four singles matches with a win at No. 1.
