SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Colgate women's tennis team had a challenging matchup Saturday morning as the Raiders came up short in a 7-0 loss to the Hofstra Pride at the Drumlins Tennis Center.
 
MacKenzie Deeter (Wadsworth, Ohio), Jordan Williams (Fort Washington, Maryland) and Cheyenne Brown (Dayton, New Jersey) all forced tiebreakers in singles play but couldn't force third sets against their opponents in singles play.
 
Hofstra opened the match with a sweep in doubles, winning No. 3 doubles 6-0 before earning a pair of 6-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
 
The Raiders rallied in singles play to challenge the Pride but Hofstra managed to take all six singles matches.

"It was a tough day for the ladies today as they lost to a high quality Hofstra team. We came out a bit flat in doubles but picked it up in singles with Brown, Williams and Deeter taking their opponents to breakers. We have a big week ahead to get ready for Bucknell."
