HAMILTON – The Colgate men's basketball team closed the first half on an 11-0 run and never looked back as the Raiders captured a big 70-62 Patriot League win over Navy Monday night at Cotterell Court.
Navy led by 10 late in the first half, but Colgate's 11-0 streak gave the Raiders a one-point lead at the half that they wouldn't relinquish. Colgate went 12-for-12 from the free throw line in the final 1:07 to seal the win. The Raiders are now 3-1 in Patriot League play for the first time since the 2014-15 season and Colgate improves to 6-1 at Cotterell Court.

Sean O'Brien led the Raiders with 18 points and six assists, while sophomore
Will Rayman chipped in 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Five points from Rayman helped Colgate jump out to a 10-4 lead six minutes into the game. Navy answered with six straight points to even the score at 10-10 with 12:25 left in the term.
Colgate pulled ahead by four, but the Mids responded with an 18-4 run over the next seven minutes to take a 28-18 lead with 4:45 to play. First-year

Malcolm Regisford tossed in a layup to help Colgate erase the deficit and pull ahead 29-28 at the half.

Jordan Burns stretched Colgate lead to six points at 38-32 just under five minutes into the second term. Navy had an answer to the next few Colgate baskets to stay within three at 45-42, but a jumper from Regisford was followed by back-to-back three-pointers from Burns and Rayman to give Colgate its largest lead yet at 55-42 with just over 10 minutes to play.
The Mids answered with the next five points to cut the Colgate advantage down to 51-47 with 7:51 left on the clock. Four points from junior
Dana Batt and a big three-pointer from O'Brien followed as seven-straight Colgate points gave the Raiders an 11-point edge at 58-47 with under four minutes to play.
Navy pulled within six at 58-52 thanks to a 5-0 run. Colgate held off the Mids' late charge with a 12-for-12 showing from the free-throw line in the final 1:07 to seal the 70-62 victory.

- O'Brien's 18 points came from a 4-for-7 effort from three-point range and perfect 6-for-6 showing from the charity stripe. The senior dished a game-high six assists and added four rebounds and two steals.
- Rayman was 5-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line en route to his 17-point performance. He also notched three steals and four assists in his strong all-around effort.
- Batt added eight points, while Burns tallied seven.
- Regisford recorded six points and a team high-tying seven rebounds.

- Colgate finished the game shooting 41.8 percent (23-for-55) from the field and 37.9 percent (11-for-29) from three-point range. The Raiders were a strong 86.7 percent (13-for-15) from the free throw line.
- Colgate held Navy to a 38.1 percent (24-for-63) mark from the field and 27.6 percent (8-for-29) clip from downtown. The Mids were 6-of-7 from the free throw line.
- Navy finished the game with a 38-35 rebound advantage after controlling a 22-13 halftime edge. Colgate out-rebounded the Mids 25-16 in the second term.
