STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Colgate women's track and field team continued its 2017-18 season Saturday afternoon at the Great Dane Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Center.
 
A limited squad traveled to Staten Island for the meet on Saturday with just eight different women's track and field athletes competing in the meet on Saturday.
 
Senior captain Tina Bowers (West Reading, Pennsylvania) highlighted the day with her performance in the 800 meter race while Vicky Martinez (Mount Kisco, New York) also had an impressive showing in the mile.
 
THE RUNDOWN
-Bowers came in 22^nd place of the 800 meter race with a time of 2:28.78
-Martinez came in 40^th out of 61 runners in the mile with a time of 5:27.54
-Kayla Park (Randolph, New Jersey) finished 94^th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.06 seconds as she ran the event for the first time in college
-Allison Kinne (Great Barrington, Massachusetts) ran the 400 meter dash in 1:05.33 to come in 70^th place

The women's track and field team returns to action next Saturday at the Upstate Challenge hosted by Cornell in Barton Hall in Ithaca, New York.
