Colgate's 12 Goals Not Enough in Loss at Loyola

Kreitler and O'Hanlon Combine for Seven Goals and 11 Points as the Raiders fall to the Greyhounds, 19-12

BALTIMORE – Isabel Kreitler (Fairfield Connecticut) and Haley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) combined for seven goals and 11 points Saturday afternoon as the Colgate women's lacrosse team fell to the Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds, 19-12, at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

Colgate's 12 goals against Loyola are tied for the most the Greyhounds have given up in a Patriot League game since joining the conference for the 2014 season.

Kreitler led the way with four goals while tying her career-highs with three assists and seven points against the Patriot League-leading Greyhounds. O'Hanlon was just as dominant on the offensive end recording a hat trick and four points while she tied her career-highs with three caused turnovers and added two groundballs and two draw controls.

Tara Atkinson (Lloyd Harbor, New York) also continued her hot play as she tied her career-high with three assists and five points in the loss. Atkinson has 10 goals and 18 points in her last five games.

Loyola scored the first goal of the game 30 seconds in behind Cami Whiteford's 26th of the season but O'Hanlon answered with her 20th of the season to give the Raiders a pair of 20-goal scorers

After two goals from the Greyhounds Lindsay West (Bedford Hills, New York) tallied her eighth goal of the season, Loyola scored the next seven goals of the game to take a 10-2 lead but the Raiders showed some fight.

The Raiders scored the final three goals of the half, including one each from Charlotte Redican (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), Natalie Washuta (Chatham, New Jersey) and Kreitler before Kreitler scored the first goal of the second half to bring Colgate within four goals.

Loyola went on another run, scoring eight of the next 10 goals to take an 18-8 lead with 12:40 left in the second half. Atkinson and Kreitler each scored during that span, with Kreitler netting her goal on a man-up opportunity for her third of the game.

The Raiders scored four of the final five goals in the second half to come back within seven goals of the Greyhounds. O'Hanlon scored two straight before a Loyola goal, followed by Kreitler's fourth of the game and Atkinson scored to close out the scoring with 3:29 left in game.

BOTTOM LINE
Loyola 19, Colgate 12
