Terriers Run Past Raiders, 18-8

O'Hanlon Fills the Stat Sheet, Tying Career-Highs in Groundballs and Caused Turnovers in Loss

BOSTONHaley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) filled the stat sheet Wednesday evening but it wasn't enough as the Colgate women's lacrosse team fell 18-8 to the Boston University Terriers at Nickerson Field.

O'Hanlon scored the Raiders' final goal of the game in addition to tying her career-highs with three caused turnovers and five groundballs.

The Raiders took a 6-3 lead midway through the first half, highlighted by two goals from Isabel Kreitler (Fairfield, Connecticut) to give her 24 goals this season. Tara Atkinson (Lloyd Harbor, New York), Sarah Bowles (Cicero, New York), Kristen Brigagliano (Brightwaters, New York) and Natalie Washuta (Chatham, New Jersey) each scored for the Raiders in the early going.

Bowles' goal was her first of the season with 17:53 left in the first half. After picking off a Boston University pass, Bowles created a fast break, passed the ball to Kreitler who fed it back to Bowles for the easy goal.

Following Washuta's goal, Boston University scored 14 straight goals until there was 6:27 left in the second half when Atkinson scored a man-down goal for her second of the game and 10th of the season.

O'Hanlon scored her only goal of the game with 3:50 left in the second half before the Terriers added one more goal to close out the mid-week contest.
