Alzheimer's Association
HAMILTON – The Colgate men's basketball team is set to host its annual Alzheimer's Awareness game Saturday afternoon when the Raiders welcome Lafayette to Cotterell Court. The regular-season finale tips off at 2 p.m.
Free t-shirts, Gilligan's ice cream and raffle prizes will be on hand Saturday at Cotterell Court, with a suggested donation of $1. All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association. The Raiders will be wearing purple in support of creating awareness for Alzheimer's.
Formed in 1980, the Alzheimer's Association advances research to end Alzheimer's and dementia while enhancing care for those living with the disease. The cause is close to the hearts of the team and the Hamilton community.
Saturday's 2 p.m. game will also be Senior Day. The program's three seniors (
Andrew Bargmann,
Ryan Diew and
Nathan Harries) will be honored prior to tipoff.
The game will serve as Colgate's regular-season finale with major postseason seeding implications on the line. A win secures a top-six seed in the Patriot League Tournament and first-round bye for the Raiders.
