CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Colgate field hockey goalkeeper
Maria Krull (Leicester, Massachusetts) has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Krull is one of 11 players across Patriot League Field Hockey to be named to the All-Academic Team.
Kayla Robinson '17 was named to the All-Academic Team last season, making Krull the ninth overall selection and seventh different player for the Raiders to be selected since the All-Academic team was established for the 2010 season.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
Majoring in biology, Krull has maintained a 3.36 GPA throughout her collegiate career while continuing to play well on the field. She is a two-time NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad Member. In addition to the national recognition, Krull is also a two-time selection of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, which honors all players regardless of playing time, and is a two-time selection of the Raider Academic Honor Roll.
Krull was just named the 2017 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year and was a All-Patriot League First Team selection after leading the league with a .786 save percentage, 9.71 saves per game and 165 total saves. She tallied two shutouts this season and ranked third with a 2.54 GAA. Krull is second in the nation in saves per game and total saves as well as tied for sixth in save percentage.
Back in 2015, Krull was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team in her first season as the team's starter. In 2015 and 2016, Krull led the nation in saves per game and total saves while she has led the league in each category over the past three seasons.
