HAMILTON – Three Raiders earned two wins apiece as the Colgate women's swimming and diving team came up just short in a 162-134 dual meet loss to Binghamton Saturday afternoon at Lineberry Natatorium.

INDIVIDUAL WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Beth Caruana claimed the 100-yard backstroke title with a clip of 59.54 before taking the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 2:09.44.
• Caroline LaPlante impressed once again by sweeping the diving events for the second-straight meet. She finished atop the 1-meter podium with 220.57 points before claiming the 3-meter with 250.65 points.
• Kiersten Daly took home the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.59. Daly followed with the 200-yard IM title after touching the wall in 2:10.45.
• Colgate took the top two spots in the 200-yard freestyle as Maddie Fitzgerald (1:58.47) finished first and Bernadette Tankle (1:59.80) placed second.

• "We were a little short handed today. We raced so hard but just came up short in a few key races..This is the start of three meets in eight days, so we will get back to work on a few things and continue to prepare and race hard."

• The Raiders close out their season-opening homestand next weekend when Colgate hosts Canisius and Niagara.
