Krull Tallies Nine Saves in Loss to Rider

Colgate Field Hockey Shut Out by Rider, 2-0, in Sunday Matinee

HAMILTON – Maria Krull (Leicester, Massachusetts) tallied nine saves for the Colgate field hockey team Sunday afternoon as the Raiders fell to the Rider Broncs, 2-0, at Tyler's Field.

The Raiders battled hard all game long but could not manage to break the Broncs defense.

Rider took a 1-0 lead just over 13 minutes into the first half as Allison Baligian picked up her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Katie Anderson (Greene, New York) nearly tied up the game for the Raiders with 20:28 left in the second half but Rider goalkeeper Lena Vandam narrowly turned the shot away for her only save of the game.

The Broncs continued to cling to their 1-0 lead until five minutes later when Eline De Jong tallied an insurance goal for her fourth of the year to make it 2-0 with 15:21 to play in the second half.
