EVANSTON, Ill. – Goalkeeper
Maria Krull (Leicester, Massachusetts) recorded a career-high 21 saves as the Colgate field hockey team fell to the nationally ranked No. 17 Northwestern Wildcats, 8-0, Sunday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

It was the first career 20-save game for Krull as she was tested to the tune of 30 shots on goal from the Wildcats. Midfielder
Molly Klare (Wilmette, Illinois) contributed her second defensive save of the season in addition to Krull's 21 saves.

Northwestern scored early and often on their way to an 8-0 win, led by Isabel Flens' hat trick and one assist for a seven-point game. Kirsten Mansfield scored one goal and picked up three assists for five points as the second leading scorer for the Wildcats. Elena Curley, Dominique Masters, Puck Pentenga, and Katie Yeatts also scored for Northwestern while Sophia Miller recorded two assists.

The Wildcats scored their first three goals off of penalty corners, taking a 3-0 lead into halftime. Northwestern initially took a 1-0 lead on Curley's fourth goal of the season before Mansfield deflected a shot off a penalty corner 19:15 into the game. With just 11 seconds left in the first half, Masters scored on a penalty corner of her own.

Just over 12 minutes into the second half, Pentenga made it 4-0 Northwestern and the Wildcats' Flens scored all three of her goals in the following 12 minutes of play to make it 7-0. Yeatts scored her first goal of the season with 1:20 left in the game to finish off the scoring.
