Krull Sets Single-Season Saves Career-High with 168

Field Hockey falls to Lock Haven, 5-0, in Non-Conference Play

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Colgate junior goaltender Maria Krull set a new career-high for saves in a single-season with 168 as the Colgate Field Hockey team fell to the Lock Haven Bald Eagles, 5-0, at Charlotte E. Smith Field.

Krull's 168 saves breaks her previous career-high of 161 set last season in her first as a starter. Krull is currently first in the NCAA Division I Field Hockey with 168 saves and 12 saves per game. Her 168 saves are also the most by a Colgate field hockey goalkeeper since Kirsten Lalli recorded 183 during the 2010 season.

The Raiders mustered three shots on goal, including an early Whitney Jones (Sudbury, Massachusetts) shot that was saved by Lock Haven goalkeeper Paige Stuppy just 5:46 into regulation.

Just 16 seconds after Jones' shot, Lock Haven took the lead on Lydia George's sixth goal of the season as she spun around the defender shot the ball through Krull's legs.

Tamia Roach led the Bald Eagles on Friday afternoon with five points in the game on two goals and one assist. Roach scored each of her goals in the first half, including her second tally with just eight seconds left.

Dana Lee De gannes also added her seventh goal of the season with 5:39 left in the half to stay even with Roach for the team lead.

The Bald Eagles took a 4-0 game into halftime, and the Raiders nearly held them off the scoreboard for the entire second half until MacKenzie Farley chipped the ball over Krull for her second goal of the season with 1:46 left in regulation.
