Game Highlights
HAMILTON – Malcolm Regisford led Colgate Men's Basketball to its fourth straight victory here Sunday afternoon with a 20-point performance in a 76-61 win over Holy Cross.
The first-year had himself a day, finishing 6-for-8 from the floor and 8-for-10 from the charity stripe for his career-high number. The Woodland Hills, California, native also pulled down a team-best eight rebounds while handing out two assists, which matched his career-high.
Three other student-athletes recorded twin figures in
Tom Rivard ,
Sean O'Brien and
Austin Tillotson . One game removed from scoring his 1,000th career point in the Maroon and White, Tillotson earned 10 points on Sunday to go along with his three steals. He has now reached double-figures in 15 of the Raiders' 19 games so far this season.
Rivard ended with 16 points and had a nearly perfect shooting day, going 7-for-8 from the floor, 1-for-1 from long range and 1-for-1 from the free throw line. O'Brien closed out the top scorers with 15 points, aided by 3-of-5 makes from downtown. The sophomore dished out a team-best five helpers, while compiling three steals as well.
Colgate had the lead for the majority of the game and a 3-pointer from
Jordan Swopshire at the halftime buzzer sent the hosts into the break up 33-29.
The Raiders extended their edge to eight midway through the second period, but two good free throws from Holy Cross' Anthony Thompson pulled the visitors to within 54-48.
That would be as close as they would come though.
Colgate then used a 7-0 and 6-0 run to finish the game on a 22-13 rally, securing its sixth win in Patriot League action. This marked the fifth consecutive game the Raiders have outscored their opponent in the second half of play.

Straight From The Source•
Colgate head coach Matt Langel: (on the game) "It turned out to be a good one. Obviously we were supposed to be down in Baltimore and the weather kind of changed the plans. I'm glad we were able to stay in the rhythm of a weekday weekend type game situation.
"We didn't play as well against them there as we did now but we're a better team and I think we proved that to ourselves this afternoon. We were really focused on defense and although they got off to a really good run there to start the second half, I think
Alex Ramon, specifically, but
Dana Batt,
Malcolm Regisford and
Sean O'Brien did some good things on the defensive end that kind of stopped their run and allowed us to continue to score.
"I'm really proud of the growth and development of our team and the job we did to get a win here this afternoon."
(on Regisford's career-high performance) "He finished some of the shots that he had. Our spacing was good and we took advantage of the switches of their matchup zone. He got some high-low looks and some offensive rebound stick backs. He stepped up and made 8-of-10 from the free throw line so I think that's a sign of how good we think Malcolm can be. 20 points, eight rebounds in 26 minutes is a fantastic job and you combine that with Dana's 12 minutes on the defensive end and that's a great two-headed center for you as freshmen."
Next Up• Colgate travels to Lehigh for a Wednesday night meeting with the Mountain Hawks at 7 p.m. in Stabler Arena.
• Lehigh's game against rival Lafayette on Saturday was postponed due to Winter Storm Jonas, making their last outing a 69-64 defeat to Navy on Jan. 20.
• The all-time series with the Mountain Hawks stands at 51-35.
• Live stats and video will be available at the start of that game.
