BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Despite three student-athletes finishing in double-figure scoring, Colgate wasn't able to sneak past a tough Lehigh team here Wednesday night, falling 79-70.
With the loss, the Raiders' four-game winning streak was snapped. But Colgate still sits in third place in the conference with its Patriot League mark of 6-3.
Tom Rivard went for a team-high 19 points, while
Austin Tillotson and
Jordan Swopshire added 18 and 11 points, respectively. Tillotson added six assists, which gave him enough to surpass former teammate Mitch Rolls '13 for second all-time in Colgate's records book.
Leading the Raiders on the boards was
Jordan Robertson, who pulled down five.
With the game tied at 15-all midway through the opening period, the Mountain Hawks used a 14-6 run to break the game open at 29-21 with 7:13 remaining.
Lehigh maintained its lead for the rest of the half and took a 42-33 edge into the break.
The Mountain Hawks then extended their advantage to 14 points five minutes into the second period. Colgate would not go away though as it slowly chipped the deficit down to 53-50 following a Swopshire 3-pointer with 9:54 remaining. Unfortunately, that would be as close as the Raiders would come as their hosts answered with a 10-0 rally, featuring back-to-back treys from Austin Price to ultimately seal the win.
Colgate is in action again Saturday when it hosts American for a 2 p.m. tilt in Cotterell Court. The Eagles have won two straight, both on the road, following their 63-58 victory at Navy on Wednesday. Live stats and video will be available at the start.

Straight From The Source•
Colgate head coach Matt Langel: (on the game) "Winning on the road in the league is difficult. Lehigh is a talented team with a few very experienced players who stepped up and made plays and shots for their team when they needed it most.
"Austin Price was terrific tonight so we certainly tip our cap to him and his team.
"I thought that we got good shots on the offensive end but just didn't make as many as we needed. We missed from the free throw line, which would have helped negate a few of their runs. We also struggled to come up with a few critical loose ball plays that led to points for Lehigh.
"Without Malcolm (Regisford) and Dana (Batt) in foul trouble, we had to play small for long stretches, which is difficult to do against Lehigh and Tim Kempton. We will certainly learn from the game and get the group ready to go for Saturday against American."

• The Eagles are coming off two-straight road wins, including a 63-58 victory at Navy on Wednesday.
