Gadiano Homers Against Boston U.

Colgate Drops Series to Terriers After 9-3 Setback

BOSTON, Mass. – In the final contest of a three-game set between Colgate and Boston University, the Raiders weren't able to overcome an early hole.

A four-run opening inning gave the Terriers just enough breathing room to secure themselves the eventual 9-3 victory.

On the day four Raiders tallied a hit each in Mariel Schlaefer, Holly Geranen, Alex Gadiano and Kate Zucker. Accounting for Colgate's three runs in the game where Geranen, Gadiano and Gillian Murray.

Gadiano reeled in one run herself with her second season long ball over the center field fence during the fourth inning. Prior to that in the second inning, Zucker drilled a single to right field, which allowed Murray and Geranen to touch home.

Boston U. jumped out the 4-0 lead early in the first. Zucker's two RBI single cut the Terriers lead in half but another run from the hosts in the third pushed the edge to 5-2. Gadiano's blast pulled Colgate back to within 5-3 but four more runs in the fifth from the Terriers ultimately secured them the win.

Boston U. has now swept the Raiders in all six of their regular season meetings since joining the Patriot League in the fall of 2013.
