Colgate Takes On Army In Patriot Quarters

Colgate Fell To Army, 4-0, in the Quarterfinals of the 2015 Patriot League Championship on Friday

VERONA, N.Y. – Third-seeded Army played the role of ungracious guest as it swept host and sixth-seeded Colgate, 4-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 Patriot League Women's Tennis Championship Friday at the Sportsplex at Turning Stone.

The Black Knights posted a pair of 8-1 victories to claim the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead. The pairing of Elie Taylor and Nancy Porter defeated sophomore Kirstie Woodbury and freshman Kelly Klein at No. 3 doubles while the tandem of Carolyn Pitman and Julian Mok knocked off sophomore Kaelin Brittin and Hannah Fleckenstein in the No. 3 doubles match.

In singles action, Army captured the top three singles matches to complete the sweep. Hannah Dahlem knocked off junior Katie Grant, 6-0, 6-1 in No. 3 singles to make a 2-0 match before Eva Sung turned in a 6-0, 6-2 win over sophomore Kaelin Brittin at No. 2 singles to make it a 3-0 Army lead. Carolyn Pitman wrapped up the match for the Black Knights with a 6-0, 6-1 win over junior Jennifer Ho at the No. 1 singles position.
