Colgate Squares Off Versus Cornell Wednesday

Freshman Haley O'Hanlon Scored Twice, but Cornell Defeated Colgate, 11-5, on Wednesday

ITHACA, N.Y. – Freshman Haley O'Hanlon scored twice for Colgate, but Cornell used a balanced attack to defeat the Raiders, 11-5, in collegiate women's lacrosse action Wednesday at Schoellkopf Field.
 
In the annual meeting between the two Central New York foes, Cornell rattled off four unanswered goals midway through the first half to spark a 6-1 stretch that gave the Big Red a 7-2 edge early in the second half.
 
Colgate responded by notching two of the next three goals to make it an 8-4 contest, only to see Cornell tally three unanswered goals to build an 11-4 cushion. The Raiders tallied the last goal of the game to determine the final six-goal margin.

- With the score tied at 1-all, Amie Dickson netted the first of her three goals at the 17:50 mark of the first half to ignite Cornell to score six of the next seven goals to build a 7-2 cushion. Dickson also picked up a pair of assists during the run.
- Dickson and Kristy Gilbert netted a pair of goals each for the Big Red during the game-changing spurt, which lasted 21:44.
- Lindsay Toppe and Emily Tripodi also found the back of the net for Cornell over the course of the decisive run.

- O'Hanlon tallied two goals to pace the Raider attack. Senior Megan Ark, junior Emily Peebles and sophomore Isabel Kreitler also scored for Colgate.

- Senior keeper Jennie Berglin recorded a season-high 13 saves. She tallied double-digit saves in a game for the second time this season and the 12th time in her career.
