Raiders Roll Past Lions Sunday, 14-3

Colgate Used a Pair of Lengthy Runs to Cruise to a 14-3 Victory Over Host Columbia Sunday

NEW YORK – Colgate Women's Lacrosse used a pair of lengthy runs to overpower host Columbia and cruise to a 14-3 victory Sunday at Robert K. Kraft Field.
 
The Raiders trailed 1-0 early before a goal from Lauren Gorajek at the 27:03 mark of the first half sparked the Raiders to score four unanswered goals and take a 4-1 lead into intermission.
 
The two sides traded goals to start the second half when freshman Haley O'Hanlon scored at the 25:02 mark to ignite a Colgate run that saw the Raiders rattle off eight unanswered goals to build a 13-2 cushion. Columbia and Colgate exchanged goals during the final 10 minutes of the contest to determine the final 11-goal margin.

- Holding a 5-2 lead early in the second half, freshman Haley O'Hanlon scored with 25:02 remaining in the final frame to start a stretch that saw the Raiders notch eight unanswered goals over a 12:51 span to build a commanding 13-2 margin.
- Junior Emily Peebles scored four consecutive goals during a stretch of 2:48 to quickly turn 7-2 edge into an 11-2 cushion.

- Peebles paced the Raiders with four goals while Kreitler added three and Ark pitched in two. Peebles' four goals matched her career high, set against Holy Cross during her freshman season in 2013.
- Ark also recorded two assists to give her four points on the afternoon. She surpassed the 100-point plateau for her collegiate career (101) with the four-point outing.
- Senior Jennie Berglin finished with eight saves in goal for Colgate, including five during the second half.
