HAMILTON –
Colgate achieved something it has only done once in its prior 24 years in the Patriot League – reach 10 conference wins on the season.

The Raiders handled Army 84-69 Wednesday night to shift their league record to 10-5 with a 13-15 overall mark.

Colgate last hit 10 wins in league play during the 1995 season when the Raiders went 11-3 before going on to win the Patriot League title.

The Raiders got a strong individual performance from senior Luke Roh, who posted a career-best 25 points. He shot an impressive 9-of-13 from the floor and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe. The Scottsdale, Arizona, native also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, handing him his first double-double of the season and second of his career.

Colgate jumped out to a 23-12 lead 12 minutes into the contest after Pat Moore drained his first trey of the night. Army would pull within seven following a good jumper from Tanner Plomb, but the Raiders would answer quickly to make it a 36-24 ballgame.

Kyle Wilson hit a 3-pointer with 38 seconds remaining in the half to send Army into the break down only 46-36.

Colgate extended its advantage to a game-high 18-points at 56-38 after it registered back-to-back makes from downtown just six minutes into the second half.

The Raiders would see Army rally and get the lead down to 73-65 with 2:47 left to play. However, Colgate wouldn't let the Black Knights get any closer as the Raiders finished the game on a 11-4 run, including making 3-of-4 from the free throw line, to secure the victory.

Ethan Jacobs, Moore and Matt McMullen all recorded double-figure scoring nights as well with 19, 11 and 10 points, respectively. Damon Sherman-Newsome added a career-high seven helpers, while Roh came up with three very timely steals.

On the night Colgate shot 51.7 percent from the floor and hit 9-of-21 from long-range. The Raiders also converted on 13-of-19 shots from the free throw line. Army finished the contest shooting 45.6 percent overall, while hitting just 5-of-25 from behind the arc. The Black Knights went 12-for-14 from the charity stripe.

The Raiders are away from Cotterell Court for the next week, taking on a tough two-game road swing at Loyola and Lafayette. Colgate faces the Greyhounds on Sunday at noon before traveling to meet the Leopards on Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.

Austin Tillotson recorded four assists in the game, which handed him 116 on the season. The junior is now just 17 helpers shy of matching his total from a season ago, which placed him third all-time in season-assists.

Straight From The Source
• Colgate head coach Matt Langel: (on his overall thoughts from the game) "We handled the ball well under pressure and against a style of play that, to be honest, we've struggled with over the years. Then to add just five  turnovers with 21 assists was great."

"Obviously our veteran guys were big for us. Despite foul trouble, Matty (McMullen) gets 10 points on four shots and Ethan (Jacobs) is almost perfect from the field at 7-for-8 for his 19 points. Luke Roh got his career-high by the half and 25 overall with four assists, no turnovers and 10 rebounds."

"They were disappointed about the way Saturday afternoon went. We played well enough to win that game, we just didn't close it out. Hopefully that will be the last lesson we need to learn here late in the season and we can build some momentum moving forward."
