HAMILTON –
It was a tie ballgame at the half, but Colgate used a strong second period to edge New Hampshire 75-59 here Sunday afternoon.

After its second best shooting half of the year, Colgate outscored the visitors 48-32 in the second period to secure its second straight victory.

Colgate's 48 points in the second half were a season-high, while its 47.5 percent shooting for the game was its second best.

Leading the way for the Raiders was Jordan Robertson, who notched 15 points in the game on 6-of-8 shooting.

Rookie Malcolm Regisford earned his first career double-double after recording 13 points and 10 rebounds. Tom Rivard closed out the top Raider scorers with 13 points. 22211

Sean O'Brien and Alex Ramon drained three 3-pointers each, while Jordan Swopshire hit two to lead Colgate from downtown.

Austin Tillotson was one helper shy of matching his career-best with 10 assists in the contest.

The Wildcats tied the game with 15 seconds left in the opening period to send the teams into the break knotted at 27-all.

UNH pulled in front 40-38 with 13:43 remaining in the second half. Colgate would answer with a 11-0 run, though, sparked by three treys. Two of those came from the hands of Ramon to create a 49-40 gap between the teams.

The Wildcats hit a 3-pointer of their own to end their four-minute drought, but that would be as close as they would come. The Raiders used another 10-2 run to extend their edge to 59-45 with less than seven minutes to play and never looked back.

Colgate plays host to Keuka on Saturday for an exhibition game at 2 p.m. before closing out its regular season non-conference slate at Georgia Tech on Dec. 23.

Straight From The Source
• Colgate head coach Matt Langel: (on the game) "Today was a big step for us in our process to be the best team we can be. First, heading into exams after a tough final week of classes, our guys had the focus and enthusiasm required to beat a good UNH team."

"They won 19 games last year, including one against us, and returned most of their roster. For us to win, we knew we would need good games from a number of guys, and that's what we got. Our guys were excited to win and it should make exam week and our time together before a few days break for the Holidays even more productive as we work toward the ultimate goal of competing in the Patriot League."
