CATONSVILLE, Md. – Colgate Men's Basketball got back on the winning track here Saturday afternoon, defeating UMBC 71-63.
The Raiders had balanced scoring throughout, with four student-athletes in double-figures. Senior captain
Austin Tillotson led the way with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting. He also handed out a game-high seven helpers.

Alex Ramon grabbed 14 points, before sophomore
Jordan Robertson and
Sean O'Brien closed out the Raider top scorers with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Malcolm Regisford pulled down a game-best seven rebounds, while Tillotson earned two steals.
Colgate found itself down 12-7 six minutes into the contest, but answered with an 8-0 run to take over the lead at 15-12. The Raiders kept the Retrievers scoreless for a little less than two minutes during that span.
A good free throw from Ramon with 41 seconds remaining in the half created the Raiders' largest lead of the game at 37-21. But a good 3-pointer from UMBC right before the break sent the Retrievers into the locker room with a 37-24 deficit.
Four minutes into the second period,
Tom Rivard extended Colgate's edge back to 42-27. And despite the Retrievers getting the advantage down to six, three times in the remaining minutes, the Raiders were able to hold on for their second road victory of the season.
Colgate finished the day shooting 45.8 percent (22-of-48) from the floor. The Raiders also drained 10 shots from behind-the-arc for 38.5 percent and hit 17 of their 22 attempts from the free throw line for 77.3 percent.
The Raiders remain on the road for another out-of-conference matchup with rival Binghamton on Tuesday. That game is slated for a 7 p.m. tilt in the Bearcats' Events Center. Live stats and video will be available at the start.

UMBC's Numbers• Will Darley led the Retrievers with a career-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He also drained 6-of-7 attempts from the free throw line. The junior added five rebounds and one assist, block and steal on his already impressive day.
• Jourdan Grant tallied 18 points as well after going 12-for-14 from the charity stripe.
• Grant and Joe Sherburne pulled down a team-best six rebounds, while Rodney Elliott handed out a team-high four helpers.
• The Retrievers finished shooting 38.3 percent from the floor, 20 percent from long-range and 82.8 percent from the line.
How It Happened• Colgate found itself down 12-7 just 13:53 into the game.
• The Raiders would not waver though answering with an 8-0 run to pull in front 15-12. Tillotson had five points during that stretch.

Matt Langel's squad then maintained a decent margin throughout much of the first half until another 6-0 run handed Colgate its largest lead of the game at 37-21 with 41 seconds to play in the period. O'Brien and Ramon led the way with three points each.
• With it a 42-27 Raiders lead following a Rivard layup, UMBC sparked a small rally. The Retrievers went on a 9-3 run over the course of three minutes to pull within 45-36.
• UMBC continued to chip away at the Colgate lead, even getting the deficit down to six, on three different occasions in the final six minutes. But the Raiders were able to outlast their hosts to secure the win.
