BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate's
Ricky Brown made a brilliant stop on a Lehigh penalty kick but the Raiders ultimately fell to their hosts 1-0.
Less than eight minutes into the second half, Colgate was called for a foul inside the box. Lehigh's Ryan Bertrando stepped up to take the penalty kick, striking it low on goal. Brown came up with a stellar save though to keep the game tied at 0-0.
Unfortunately, Lehigh tallied the eventual game-winner a couple minutes later, grabbing its first victory in Patriot League play.
Following a scoreless opening period, Colgate nearly broke the deadline when
Tyler Forbes tried his luck on target just three minutes into the second period. Mountain Hawk goalie Joe Bogan made a solid save, however, keeping the game goalless at the time.

Then in the 52nd minute,
Jared Stroud recorded one of Colgate's best scoring opportunities. After
Ethan Kutler collected a throughball in behind the Mountain Hawks defense, he slid it from the end line to a waiting Stroud in the center of the 18-yard box. Stroud tried to one-time a shot on frame but his attempt sailed just wide of the goal.
A minute later Lehigh was awarded a penalty kick. Brown was able to hold his ground on an impressive save though to keep the game all square.
The Mountain Hawks ultimately grabbed the go-ahead tally in the 57th minute after Jamie Luchini slid one just past the outstretched arms of Brown.
Colgate tried to equalize in the remaining minutes and had another strong goal-scoring chance in the final five but
Aram Ouligian's shot was saved off the goal line.
The Mountain Hawks were able to fend off any final Raider attempts on net to secure the victory.
Brown finished the contest with a season-high seven saves between the posts for Colgate.
