HAMILTON – Colgate's stretch-drive momentum continued Friday afternoon with a 4-2 win over Rensselaer at Starr Rink.
The Raiders picked up a victory for the third weekend in a row, and now coach
Greg Fargo's squad has a chance to double its fun.
Colgate leapfrogged into ninth place ahead of the visiting Engineers in the ECAC Hockey standings, climbing to eight points at 4-10-0 in the league. RPI, which entered the weekend on a two-game ECAC winning streak, remains at seven points on 3-11-1.
The Raiders can move closer to that coveted eighth position when Union arrives in town Saturday. The Dutchwomen are 1-12-1 in the ECAC this season and 0-29 all-time against Colgate.
Friday, a balanced Colgate attack saw four different goal-scorers find the net.
Miriam Drubel and
Megan Sullivan tallied in the first period, and then
Melissa Kueber and
Breanne Wilson-Bennett lit the lamp for the Raiders toward the end of Period 2.
Ashlynne Rando stopped 23 shots in goal for the winners.
Drubel got the Raiders on the board with a first-period goal.Colgate two weeks ago defeated Brown and lost at Yale, and then last week the Raiders lost at Harvard and defeated Dartmouth.
The Raiders host Union on Saturday at 3 p.m.

First-Period Scoring• Colgate's first period goals were scored by
Miriam Drubel 4:46 into the session, and
Megan Sullivan at 17:17.
• Drubel's tally was her fifth of the season and came on a backhanded rebound of
Nicole Gass' slap shot from the right circle.
Melissa Kueber picked up the second assist on that goal.
• For Gass it was her ninth assist; Kueber picked up her fourth.
• Sullivan scored her team-leading eighth goal on a redirect from
Hannah Rastrick's blue-line blast.
Kayla Haus grabbed the second assist – the first of two in the game for the sophomore forward.
Sullivan scored her team-leading eighth goal late in the first period.• Rastrick's assist was her third of the season.
RPI Gets One Back• RPI made it a 2-1 game when Jenn Godin scored at 8:58 of the second period.
• It looked as though the Engineers had scored just seconds earlier but the net dislodged right before the puck crossed the goal line.
• On the ensuing faceoff, Mari Mankey won the draw and played it back to Godin at the right point. Godin collected the puck, found her opening and beat Colgate's Ashlynn Rando.
Turning Point• Leading 2-1 after allowing a second-period goal, Colgate responded with two goals in a 34-second window.
• Kueber scored first by redirecting a shot from the point off the stick of
Katie Case. Kueber's deflection caused a wild carom that completely fooled RPI goaltender Kelly O'Brien.
• It was Kueber's sixth goal of the season. Case and
Shelby Perry had the assists – No. 8 for each player.
• And then
Breanne Wilson-Bennett made it 4-1 Raiders when she redirected a shot in front for her sixth goal of the season.

Kayla Haus had stolen the puck and fired on net, where Wilson-Bennett was in the right place. The assist for Haus was her third.
Final Tally
Wilson-Bennett iced the game with her late second-period tally.• Rensselaer scored a power-play goal with 2:19 remaining when Alex Gruschow skated into the zone through the right circle and rifled one past Rando. Shayna Tomlinson got the assist.
