Jones Strikes Again For Colgate At SFU

Sophomore Whitney Jones scored her team-leading third goal of the season in Colgate's 8-1 loss at Saint Francis on Sunday

LORETTO, Pa. – Sophomore Whitney Jones scored her team-leading third goal of the season in Colgate's 8-1 setback at Saint Francis in collegiate field hockey action Sunday at Degol Field.
 
Jones found her way onto the scoresheet for the second straight contest for the Raiders, but the Red Flash had six different players find the back of the net to remain undefeated.
 
Autumn Pellman and Mackenzie Wirth tallied two goals each while Selena Adamshick added a goal and three assists.

How It Happened
- Autumn Pellman and Mackenzie Wirth tallied two goals each in the first half to power a Red Flash attack that scored six times in a span of 21:03 to build a 6-0 cushion.
- Saint Francis added another tally early in the second half to make it a 7-0 contest before Jones teamed up with junior Jessica Gardiner at the 41:56 mark to trim the Raider deficit to 7-1.
- The Red Flash closed out the scoring with a goal from Selena Adamshick in the 60th minute to determine the final margin.

- Sophomore Whitney Jones scored her team-leading third goal of the season. Jones also grabbed the team leading in scoring (6 pts) with the strike.
