LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior
Eliana Brown and sophomore
Whitney Jones both scored for Colgate, but Lock Haven tallied six first-half goals on its way to a 6-2 victory in collegiate field hockey action Saturday at Charlotte E. Smith Field.
Playing under wet and chilly conditions, Jones gave the Raiders (1-4) a 1-0 lead with a goal just 2:26 into the contest, but the Lady Eagles (4-1) rattled off four straight goals to build a 4-1 lead midway into the opening frame.
Brown would pull Colgate within two, 4-2, with her second goal of the season in the 29th minute, but Lock Haven struck twice in the final two minutes of the first half to build a 6-2 cushion and close out the scoring.
Sophomore Lydia Jones tallied three goals and senior Taylor Kennedy added two for the Lady Eagles, who won their fourth straight contest. Stephanie Whitman was credited with the sixth goal for Lock Haven.
