Patriot League Recap
WORCESTER, Mass. – Colgate picked up victories in two Petite Finals and nearly won a third during Friday's Patriot League Women's Rowing Championships.
The Raiders rowed to Petite Final triumphs in both the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight, while the Varsity Four finished second in its Petite Final. Colgate as a team posted 17 points and finished in eighth place out of nine teams.
The Varsity Eight opened with a fourth-place result in its heat, crossing in a time of 7 minutes and 39.389 seconds. In the Petite Final, Colgate's crew caught Lehigh at the 1,500-meter mark and pulled ahead for a time of 7:56.400 to defeat both the Mountain Hawks and Loyola.
Crew members were Macy Warren, Sarah Decelle, Susan Blick, Dempsey Wartell, Blaise Desnoes, Jordan Ressa, Caroline Wardlow, Susanna Meyer and coxswain Kelly Tucker.
The Second Varsity Eight also began with a fourth-place showing in the opening heat, posting a time of 7:57.892. In the Petite Final, Colgate passed Holy Cross at the 500-meter mark (pictured right) and stayed in front for the victory in a time of 8:12.785. Holy Cross and Loyola finished second and third, respectively.

Colgate placed fourth in the Varsity Four heat with a time of 10:03.27. The Raiders improved their time in the Petite Final to 9:45.411 and finished ahead of Loyola but couldn't catch Bucknell (9:03.541).
The all-freshman crew for Colgate (pictured below right) was
Georgia Butcher, Emma Schoenberger, Halley Weinreb, Sydney Thompson and coxswain Amanda Liberman.
Boston University captured the championship after winning the Varsity Eight Grand Final to rally past Navy. The Terriers finished with 49 points to the Mids' 45. Bucknell – runnerup in the Varsity Eight Grand Final, finished third with 43 points – followed by MIT with 38, Georgetown 33, Holy Cross 21, Lehigh 18, Colgate 17 and Loyola 6.
MIT and Georgetown are Patriot League affiliate members for women's rowing.
