Raiders Compete at UMass Dual Event

Colgate Participates in Three Races on Connecticut River

Colgate's Varsity 8+ competed in one of three races Sunday against Massachusetts on the Connecticut River.

HADLEY, Mass. –
Colgate took advantage of a light weekend in the spring rowing schedule to compete in a dual meet against Massachusetts. The Raiders took to the Connecticut River in three races – Varsity 8+, second Varsity 8+ and Novice 4+.

Colgate's Varsity 8+ posted a time of 7 minutes and 56 seconds over the 2,000 meters. The crew consisted of Kelly Tucker (coxswain), Macy Warren, Sarah Decelle, Susan Blick, Dempsey Wartell, Catherine Walsh, Jordan Ressa, Blaise Desnoes and Susie Meyer. UMass claimed the win with a time of 7:29, with a second Minutewomen boat crossing in 7:52.

In the next Varsity 8+ race, Colgate crossed the line in 8:39. The Raiders crew was made up of Julie Taibl (coxswain), Abby Yosaitis, Joanna Howe, Annie Hines, Sarah Walsh, Laura Genty, Lauren Siano, Caroline Wardlow and Eleanor Lichter. Massachusetts won that race with a time of 8:23.

Colgate's Novice 4+ boat posted a time of 11:05 with the crew of Amanda Liberman (coxswain), Georgia Butcher, Emma Schoenberger, Halley Weinreb and Sydney Thompson. Massachusetts boats finished first and second in times of 9:56 and 10:05.

The Raiders head to the Knecht Cup this weekend in Mercer, N.J.
