Raiders Wrap Up Road Swing Versus Hoyas

Colgate Suffered a 3-0 Setback to Non-Conference Foe Georgetown Sunday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Junior Emily Weinberg scored twice to lead Georgetown to a 3-0 victory over Colgate in collegiate field hockey action Sunday at Multi Sport Field.
 
Weinberg opened the scoring at in the 25th minute and notched the final Georgetown goal just over two minutes into the second half to propel the Hoyas to the non-conference victory. Sophomore keeper Rachel Skonecki picked up her third shutout of the season, making four stops in goal for the Hoyas.

How It Happened
- The two teams played a mostly scoreless first half until Georgetown struck twice in the final 11 minutes of the frame to take a 2-0 lead into intermission.
- Weinberg opened the scoring at the 25:07 mark, taking a feed from Molly Denzel during a penalty corner opportunity and firing it into the back of the net to put the Hoyas up, 1-0.
- Sophomore Alliyah Graves-Brown doubled the Georgetown advantage to 2-0 in the 32nd minute, putting a shot in from the right side for her fifth goal of the campaign.
- Weinberg closed out the scoring just 2:01 into the second half. Following a Raiders penalty corner, the Hoyas gained possession and worked the ball into the circle, where Weinberg put home a shot from the left side for her second marker of the contest and fifth goal of the season.
