ITHACA, N.Y. – The Colgate women's swimming and diving team was back in the pool for more than a month and dropped a 160-123 meet at Cornell.
The Raiders had a bunch of second-place finishes.
Morgan Cohara was the lone winner for Colgate with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke. She swam the event in 58.61 seconds.
Cohara had two of the second-place swims as well. She clocked in at 10:30.33 in the first individual competition of the day, which was the 1000-yard freestyle. Later in the meet, she swam the 500-yard free and ended up second with a time of 5:09.12.
Lindsey Sagasta was another swimmer with a pair of second-place finishes and her two came in the freestyle sprint events. She clocked in at 24.50 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to take second, while backing that up with another runner-up finish in the 100-yard free at 53.08 seconds.
Rookie
Flora Hanson contributed to the final score was two more runner-up swims. She got her points in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:06.31 and earned second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.69.
Colgate is back at Lineberry Natatorium on Jan. 17 as in-state rival Binghamton makes the trek north to Hamilton.
