With the Patriot League Championships coming up in a couple of weeks, the Colgate women's swimming and diving team got three individual events victories from Emma Santoro and Lindsey Sagasta in a 177-120 win over UConn.

Santoro and Sagasta each had three individual wins, while Lia Kunnapas and Ryan Marynowski added a pair of wins apiece. Overall, the Raiders won 12 events on the day and placed first and second in four events.

“The women stepped up and aggressively went after a win in their final meet, which puts them in a great place leading into the Patriot League Championships,” said head coach Fernando Canales. “It was a wonderful way to celebrate our seniors' last dual meet. This is a very important win for our program.”

The day started with Kunnapas, Santoro, Sagasta and Jenna Jacoby taking home a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:46.84.

Then each of them won three of the next four events with Sagasta leading the way with a win in the 200 free, clocking in at 1:52.98. Kunnapas then got in the win column in the 100 back with a time of 57.13 seconds, narrowly beating out Morgan Cohara, who clocked in at 58.03 seconds. Sagasta continued her wining ways in the other two freestyle sprint events, taking home the victory in the 50 free at 24.29 seconds and then the 100 free, clocking in at 52.58 seconds. The 100 free was closer with Sami Wary touching the wall one second after Sagasta for second place.

Santoro added two victories to her total with wins in the 200 breaststroke and the 400 individual medley. She won the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.63 and then swam to a first-place finish at 4:33.13 in the 400 IM.

Kunnapas earned her second win of the day in the 200 free with a time of 2:03.56. Marynowski ended up taking home wins in both butterfly wins.
