RESULTS
HAMILTON – The Colgate women's swimming and diving team jumped back into league competition on Saturday and came up short against Bucknell in a 176-121 decision at Lineberry Natatorium.
Colgate won five individual events and took home a win in the 400 free relay.
Lindsey Sagasta was the top swimmer for the Raiders with two wins, while
Sami Wary,
Morgan Cohara and
Cammie Kirby posted wins as well.
Sagasta got started with a win in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:54.68 and then followed that up with a victory in the 50-yard free. She clocked in with a time of 24.51 seconds. Wary came in a close second at 24.66 seconds.
Cohara began her day with a second-place swim in the 1000-yard free at 10:18.8 and then got in the win column in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.56 sconds. She then took another second-place swim in the 200-yard back, finishing at 2:05.94.
Kirby was an event winner for the Raiders in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.68, while Wary earned a victory in the 100-yard free at 53.54 seconds. Kirby was also able to take second in the 200-yard breast, clocking in at 2:28.47.
Other second-place swimmers included captain
Megan Jex and rookie
Flora Hanson. Jex got her number two finish in the 100-yard butterfly at 59.62 seconds and Hanson earned second place in the 400-yard individual medley
Colgate closed out the meet with the top swim in the 400-yard freestyle relay with captain
Hannah Fitton joining Wary, Sagasta and Cohara on the winning team. They clocked in with a time of 3:35.82.
The Raiders are off until 2014 and will travel to Cornell on Jan. 11 in their next meet.Â
