Raiders Claim Winning Pair of Races

Colgate Rowers Capture Overall First Place, Singles First Place at Cayuga Sprints

HAMILTON – Colgate women's rowing captured a pair of first-place medals Saturday in Ithaca at the Cayuga Sculling Sprints.

Colgate's 4x+ A boat of Julie Taibl, Eleanor Lichter, Georgia Butcher, Blaise Desnoes and Catherine Walsh were victorious in the overall standings and quads division, while Macy Warren captured top honors for the Raiders in the singles division and was fifth overall.

A combined 15 entries from Colgate, Ithaca and William Smith competed against each other in a 2K time trial and 1K sprint race, with results added together for the final standings.

Other Colgate competitors were the 2x A boat of Sarah Decelle and Katharine Halle finishing fourth overall; the 4x+ B boat of Aliya Williams, Caroline Wardlow, Laura Genty, Lauren Siano and Joanna Howe finishing eighth overall; the 2x B boat of Annie Hines and Susan Blick placing ninth overall; and Dempsey Wartell finishing 11th overall as a single.

Colgate is back on the water this Saturday at the Hamilton Invites. Start time from Rome is 9 a.m., and the boathouse location can be found HERE.
