BUFFALO, N.Y. (4/9/12) –The Colgate women's rowing team competed in Western New York as the Raiders took on Buffalo, Dayton and Eastern Michigan over the weekend.
Colgate had its best day on Saturday with three wins in the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight, while also crossing the finish line first in the Novice Four boat. Prior to Saturday, the Raiders finished second in three races by the three same boats.
The Varsity Eight beat out Eastern Michigan in their duel on Saturday with a time of 7:28.95. The boat featured Jill Anderson as the coxswain, while she was joined by rowers Kate Thompson,

Anna Bivins,
Macy Warren,
Shannon Jackson,
Kirsten Kellstrom,
Sarah Decelle,
Larissa Pauli.
Next up was the Second Varsity Eight and they won their duel with Eastern Michigan, clocking in at 7:28.95. That boat was led by coxswain Steph Hamilton, along with rowers Katie Johnescu,
Annie Hines,
Abby Yosaitis,
Susan Blick,
Caroline Boulton, Gabby Amundson,
Katharine Halle,
Lauren Davis.
The Novice Four finished first out of the three boats with a time of 8:43.99, defeating both Buffalo and Dayton.

On Friday, the Raiders took second in a duel with Dayton in the Varsity Eight with a time of 7:17.20 and took second in the Second Varsity Eight as well, crossing the finish line at 7:33.45. In the Novice Four on Friday, Colgate ended up second with a time of 8:55.96 in a race with both Buffalo and Dayton.
Next up for the Raiders is the Knecht Cup from Camden, N.J., which is also the site of the Patriot League Championships. The Knecht Cup is on April 14 and 15.
