Yaw Gyawu, but it wasn't enough as the Raiders fell to Army 79-59 Wednesday night at Cotterell Court. The Black Knights used a 25-6 run midway through second half to complete the season sweep and tie the all-time series record 55-55.
Brandenburg finished the game shooting 4-of-8 from the floor and a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe to lead the Raiders, while Gyawu scored in double-figures for the fifth time this season by making 5-of-8 from the floor. Freshman

Matt McMullen pitched in five points and two boards.
Army (12-14, 5-6) opened the game with an 18-8 run in the first seven minutes of action. But the Raiders were able to respond with a 10-4 run over the next six minutes to trim the lead to 22-18 with 6:07 remaining. Both teams then exchanged baskets for the next four minutes as the Black Knights led 33-26 with 2:13 left. But the Raiders closed the half with a 7-0 run, including a 15-foot jumper by Roh at the buzzer, to send both teams into the locker room tied 33-33. Gyawu finished the first half with 12 points to lead all scorers.
Army started the second half with a 16-4 run to build a 49-37 lead with 15:57 left in regulation. The Raiders then answered back with an 8-2 run over the next four minutes including back-to-back layups from Brandenburg to make the score 51-47, but that was as close as the score would get as the Black Knights closed the game with a 28-12 run to secure the win.
Army was led by Ella Ellis (22), Josh Herbeck (21) and Julian Simmons (18) who combined for 61 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The Black Knights finished the game shooting 51.7 percent from the floor, including 48 percent from downtown, while hold the Raiders to 40.4 percent from the floor and just 15.4 percent from behind the arc. Colgate won the battle on the boards 33-26, but committed 16 turnovers that resulted in 24 points.
Colgate (7-19, 1-10) will continue Patriot League play when it visits Navy on Saturday, Feb. 18. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall and will be streamed live on Patriot League All-Access.
