HAMILTON, N.Y. – Senior
Jenna Klynstra will be leading the Colgate women's hockey team into their upcoming 2012-13 season.
“Everyone who has a hand in our program has a great deal of respect for Jenna,” head coach
Greg Fargo said. “Her work ethic and attitude are exemplary, as is her play on the ice. I could make the same statement for many of our players who share similar qualities, but Jenna is our captain and she will do a tremendous job of leading our hockey program this season.”
Klynstra has played in more than 90 games for Colgate in just three years. She has a career of 21 goals and 37 assists. She sits second on the team, behind fellow senior teammate
Brittany Phillips with career points, 58. In 2010 she was the co-winner of the most improved award. Klynstra is currently ranked 21st in program history for career points.
The team has also decided that they will go with a leadership group instead of the traditional assistant captains this year. The Raiders will kick off their first home regular season game this weekend with games against Northeastern on Friday at 7 p.m. and New Hampshire on Saturday at 4 p.m., both at Starr Rink.
