Tricia Oakes recorded her second-straight double-double and fourth of the season with a game-high 25 points and 17 rebounds as the Colgate women's basketball team earned a key Patriot League victory 74-69 over Holy Cross Saturday afternoon at Cotterell Court.

Jhazmine Lynch contributed with 18 points, five rebounds, and three assists while
Missy Repoli added a career-high 16 points.
Both teams began the game on a slow shooting start, as Colgate (5-17, 2-5) shot the ball 22 percent while Holy Cross (13-9, 4-3) was 26 percent, but the Crusaders held the lead 11-9 with 11:41 remaining in the half. Holy Cross continued to push the tempo as the Crusaders went on a 19-14 run to extend their lead to 30-23. The Raiders finished the half strong closing the deficit to 32-29 behind the post play Oakes.
A jumper from Meredith Ward opened up the second half of play to give the Crusaders a five-point lead. The two teams then traded buckets over the next three minutes until Alex Smith hit a three with the shot clock winding down to give the Crusaders a 42-36 lead with 15:37 left. After a tough start to the game, Colgate began to hit shots and went on a 10-3 run to take its first lead, 46-45, since 10:17 left in the first half. Lynch gave the Raiders the lead as she converted on the old fashion three-point play. Holy Cross continued to battle back as Emily Parker converted on her own three-point play to regain the lead 63-61 with 4:43 left in the game. With 2:08 remaining Lynch hit two at the charity stripe to tie the game at 65. Down the stretch the Raiders hit big shots and made big free throws to close out the Crusaders 74-69 and secure its second Patriot League win of the season.
The win snapped Raiders 10 game losing streak to Holy Cross. The last victory for the Raiders came in a 79-71 win on February 21, 2006.
The Raiders won the battle of the boards 46-45 and forced Holy Cross into 19 turnovers while limited their own turnovers to eight for the second consecutive game.
Colgate will head to the Nation's Capital to face American on Saturday, Feb 4. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on Patriot League All-Access.
