HAMILTON, N.Y. (3/4/11) – The Colgate women's basketball team will travel to Annapolis, Md. for the second time this season, for a matchup against No. 1 seed Navy in the quarterfinals of the 2010-11 Patriot League Tournament. The Raiders, who are the No. 8 seed, will play the Mids for the third time this season.

Sami Kozlowski led the team in scoring with 14 points and three assists while classmate
Krista Moser contributed 12 points and six rebounds. Junior
Kelly Korkowski led the team in rebounding with 11 in the game.
WEJNERT RECEIVES LEAGUE AWARD
Senior
Tayler Wejnert was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team earlier this week for her performance this season. She has played and started in all 28 games, leading the team in scoring on 12 occasions, twice with 22 points. Wejnert also led the team in rebounding in six games, recording her first double-double of the season against Navy on Jan. 29 with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Wejnert leads the team in scoring with 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She is followed by sophomore
Jhazmine Lynch who averages 11.4 points and is second in the league with 2.3 steals per game while Moser, who is averaging 7.2 points per game, continues to lead the team in rebounding with a 6.7 average.
PLAYERS IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Three of the five seniors are currently making their mark in school history. Kozlowski became the 18th player in Colgate women's basketball history to reach the 1,000-point career mark and is now 15th on the list with 1,053 career points. She is also third in career three-point field goals made with 144 while Wejnert is 9th with 71 made. Moser, who currently has 516 rebound, is 11th in the all-time list for career rebounds and Korkowski is 9th in career blocks with 54.
TEAM STATS
The Raiders are currently averaging 60.2 points and 38.4 rebounds per game. They lead the league in defensive rebounds (26.1 rebounds per game) and are second in rebounding offense (38.4 rebounds per game).
TOURNAMENT PLAY
Colgate enters the tournament as the No. 8 seed and will play Navy in the first round, which is the No. 1 seed. Navy, Lehigh and American were the co-winners of the regular-season title and all clinched a home game in the first round of the playoffs along with No. 4 seed Bucknell. The other three games on Saturday will be No. 6 Holy Cross versus No. 3 American at 2 p.m., while No. 7 Lafayette plays No. 2 Lehigh, and No. 5 Army takes on No. 4 Bucknell will take place at 7 p.m. The winner of the Raiders' game on Saturday will play either Army or Bucknell on Wednesday, March 9 at the site of the highest seed.
THE SERIES
Navy leads the all-time series with the Raiders 27-17. Since the teams first met in the 1991-92 season, Colgate has played 21 road games against the Mids, owning a 5-16 away record. The Raiders' last win was earlier this season, when they handed Navy its first conference loss of the season 59-55 on Jan. 29 in Annapolis, Md. This will be the third meeting between the two teams with Colgate winning the first meeting and the Mids winning the last meeting a week ago on Cotterell Court.
SCOUTING NAVY
The Mids (17-11, 10-4 PL) are coming off a 75-59 win over Colgate on Feb. 26. With the win, the team clinched a share of the regular season title along with American and Lehigh, and the No. 1 seed going into the tournament.
Navy is led by seniors Angela Myers and Cassie Consedine. Myers, who is second in the league with 5.2 assists per game, leads the team in scoring with 12.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and was also named to the All-Patriot League First Team. She is followed by Consedine who is second in the league in three-point field goals made (2.2) and in blocked shots (1.6) per game and was selected to the All-Patriot League Second Team. She is averaging 11.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Freshman Jade Geif, who averages 9.3 points and a team high 7.5 rebounds per game, was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and was selected to the All-Rookie team.
