SCOUTING COLGATE (7-22, 4-10 PL)
Colgate concluded its regular season with a loss to Navy 75-55 on Saturday at Alumni Hall. Junior Yaw Gyawu scored in double-digits for the 21st time this season but it wasn't enough as the Mids opened the game with an 11-0 run and never looked back.

After trailing 18-3 through the first four minutes of action Colgate responded with a 12-0 run to make the score 18-15 with just over eight minutes left. The run was capped off by back-to-back three pointers from freshman Pat Moore and junior Mike Venezia. The Mids closed out the half with a 13-9 run to take a 31-24 lead into the locker room.

Gyawu finished with a team-high 12 points and six rebounds, while senior captain Joe Hoban and sophomore point guard Mitch Rolls scored 10 points apiece. Junior forward Sterling Melville added nine points and six rebounds, while classmate Nick Pascale recorded three blocked shots.

SCOUTING AMERICAN (21-8, 11-3 PL)
It took two overtimes and a pair of game-tying shots, but American ultimately outlasted Lafayette, 95-92, on Saturday at Kirby Sports Center to extend its winning streak over the Leopards to 14 games.

Vlad Moldoveanu hit a jumper and two free throws for a 91-84 American edge with under a minute to play. Even that lead was not safe, as Johnson nailed a three-pointer to get Lafayette within 95-92 with 11 seconds left and the Leopards forced a five-second count on the ensuing inbounds to have a chance to tie. Lafayette got three shots at the tie, but Mower missed a pair and Johnson was off on a good look in the final seconds as American held on for the win.

Moldoveanu had 30 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead American, while Troy Brewer scored a career-high 28 with six boards and three assists.

MOORE NAMED TO PL ALL-ROOKIE TEAM
Freshman guard Pat Moore was recently named to the Patriot League All-Rookie team. Moore is the fourth-straight Raider to achieve this honor along with teammates Mike Venezia (2008), Yaw Gyawu (2009) and Mitch Rolls (2010). Moore has played in all 29 games with nine starting assignments for the Raiders. He is averaging 5.3 points per game and was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after scoring a career-high 23 points against Longwood.

HOBAN STEALING THE SHOW
Senior captain Joe Hoban currently has 47 steals on the season, which ranks third in the Patriot League and 19th all-time at Colgate. Hoban also has 102 steals in his career that sits 16th all-time at Colgate. He is only the 17th Colgate player to record 100 or more steals in a career.

ROLLS SHARING THE ROCK
Sophomore point guard Mitch Rolls recently recorded his 100th assist of the season, which ranks fifth in the Patriot League. Rolls is the first Raider with 100 in a season since Dave Hardy recorded 120 in 2003. Rolls has handed out 48 assists over the last eight games, while only committing 18 turnovers.

1,000 POINTS AND COUNTING
Junior forward Yaw Gyawu recently became the 28th player in school history to join the 1,000 point club. Gyawu leads Colgate in scoring this season with 12.2 points per game.

CLEANING THE GLASS
Junior center Nick Pascale is one of four student-athletes in the Patriot League to average six or more rebounds and one blocked shot per game. Pascale ranks third in the Patriot League with 1.4 blocked shots and sixth with 6.7 rebounds per game.
