LEWISBURG, PA. (2/19/11) – The Colgate women's basketball experienced a 79-64 setback when it fell to Bucknell on Saturday night. The Raiders had three players with double-digit points.

Tayler Wejnert led the team in scoring with 17 points and five rebounds while sophomore
Jhazmine Lynch and senior
Krista Moser contributed 16 and 12 points respectively. Moser led the team in rebounds with six.
The Bison got on the scoreboard first after the first minute and a half of play to start the game with a 2-0 lead. Colgate (7-19, 2-10 PL) answered back seconds later to tie the game at 2-2. Both teams continued to trade baskets as the game progressed but then a free throw at the 17-minute mark followed by two strong baskets, allowed Bucknell to take a 10-4 lead. The Raiders answered back one minute later with back-to-back three pointers from Wejnert to tie the game at 10-10 at the 14:57 mark. The teams battled it out on the court over the next few minutes but by the 10-minute mark, Bucknell had given itself a four-point lead. Colgate continued to play hard, keeping themselves within four points of their opponent, but as the half came to a close, an offensive surge from the Bison resulted in them taking a 39-27 lead at half time.
In the second half it was Colgate that opened scoring with a jumper at the 19:01 mark to reduce the scoring margin to 10 points. Both teams continued to play hard, making some strong plays on both ends of the court, but by the 12:25 mark, Bucknell held the 53-36 advantage after extending its lead to 17 points. The Raiders attempted to make a comeback over the next few minutes, trying to reduce the scoring margin and keep themselves in the game. However, the Bison were able to keep their composure and with just five minutes left, had a 68-50 lead. With only a few minutes left in the game, Colgate picked up its pace, playing some strong defense while making some important baskets, but despite their best efforts, the team could not make up the deficit, eventually falling to Bucknell 79-64.
"The battle of the boards went to Bucknell," stated head coach Pamela Bass. " We played hard but could not convert on some key posessions."
The team had a 33.3 field goal percentage and were an impressive 19-of-24 from beyond the arch. The Bison out-rebounded had 45 rebounds in comparisson to Colgate's 24.
The Raiders will continue play when they travel to Holy Cross for a matchup on Wednesday Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in Worcester, Mass.
