SCOUTING COLGATE (3-16, 1-4 PL)
The Raiders saw their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 76-49 loss at Bucknell on Saturday (Jan. 22). Colgate has lost in each of the last eight seasons in Lewisburg.

The Raiders were taken out of the game early as Bucknell built a 20-point lead by halftime and went up by as many as 33 before Colgate scored the final six points. Colgate held a 39-32 edge on the boards, but committed 18 turnovers and shot just 12-of-48 from the field and 3-of-16 from three-point range. Yaw Gyawu led the Raiders with 12 points, while Brandon James also finished in double figures with 11. Gyawu finished in double figures for the sixth straight game, and is up to 964 career points as he attempts to become the third active Patriot Leaguer with 1,000 points.

Gyawu and Joe Hoban lead Colgate in scoring averaging 12.7 and 8.7 points per game, respectively, while Nick Pascale is the leader on the glass with 6.3 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS (4-15, 3-2 PL)
The Crusaders fell to third place in the Patriot League with a 60-57 loss at home against American on Saturday (Jan. 22). It was Holy Cross' first home loss to the Eagles since 2008.

The Crusaders trailed by three points at halftime, but started the second half on a 15-6 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 39-33 with 14:22 to play. Holy Cross still led 43-38 before American went on an 18-5 run to go ahead for good. Holy Cross cut the gap to 57-55 and had chances to tie in the final seconds down by three, but were unable to send the game to overtime.

Devin Brown and Andrew Keister led the Crusaders with 14 points apiece, while Andrew Beinert had eight points, five steals and four assists. Holy Cross struggled from three-point range (5-of-17) and the foul line (8-of-14).

HOBAN STEALING THE SHOW
Senior captain Joe Hoban ranks second in the Patriot League with 1.6 steals per game and has recorded 12 in the last five games.

THE DAVIS FILE
Head coach Emmett Davis (St. Lawrence, 1984) is in his 13th year in charge at Colgate, owning the most wins in school history with 161.

During coach Davis' decade long tenure, the Colgate program has been a model of consistency. In nine of his 12 seasons, Davis has led the Raiders to either the upper division of the Patriot League standings or advanced the team to the semifinals or finals of the conference tournament. From 2001-2004 the Raiders finished with three consecutive regular season winning records (2001-02…17-10, 2002-03…14-13, and 2003-04…14-13) and in 2007-08 the Raiders tied the school record for wins in a season with 18.

Davis reached another career milestone in November 2005, as Colgate defeated Matt Doherty's Florida Atlantic team 78-74 earning coach Davis his 100th career victory making him just the fifth coach in school history to win 100 games.
