HANOVER, N.H. (9/5/10) – The Colgate women's soccer team was unable to hold off Brown (1-1), suffering a 3-0 downfall to the Bears on Sunday at the Dartmouth Nike Classic in Hanover, N.H.
The Raiders (1-4) gave up an early goal in the first two minutes of the game to the Bears' offense which outshot Colgate in both halves.
Brown kept the 1-0 lead going into the second half of the game, when it scored a goal in the 62nd minute and then again in the 80th minute to win its first game of the season 3-0.
“I felt we came out flat today against a well-prepared Brown team,” stated head coach
Kathy Brawn. “We couldn't dig our way back out of the hole we were in, and despite having some good chances, we just couldn't capitalize.“
Colgate will resume its season at home for the first time when it hosts the Colgate Nike Invitational next weekend from Sept. 10-12 at the Van Doren Field in Hamilton, N.Y. The Raiders will first play Seton Hall on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7.00 p.m. and then St. Bonaventure on Sunday Sept. 12 at 2.30 p.m.
