HANOVER, N.H. (9/3/10) – The Colgate women's soccer team secured its first win of the season, 1-0, Friday night against the Big Green at the Dartmouth Nike Classic in Hanover, N.H.

The Raiders (1-3) got on the scoreboard early with a terrific goal from sophomore Alyssa Manoogian (Peabody, Mass.) after she drove the ball into the top corner of the goal in the 44th minute of the game.

The team continued to play aggressively in the second half, holding off the Big Green to win the game, despite being outshot 7-4 in the last 45 minutes of the game.

“This was the best 90 minutes we have put together this season, “ stated head coach Kathy Brawn. “I thought people's personalities came out in the way they played which made it a terrific game all together. We now just need to build on the positives going into Sunday's game against a good Brown team."

Colgate will face Brown next on Sunday Sept. 5 at 12.00 p.m. for its final game of the tournament at Dartmouth.
