The Colgate University men's basketball team (8-18, 4-8) will travel to Holy Cross (8-19, 5-7) on Wednesday. The Raiders are trying to sweep the season series for the second time in the past three years.

THE SERIES WITH HOLY CROSS
This will be the 68th meeting between Colgate and Holy Cross with the Crusaders leading the all-time series 50-17. Colgate won the first meeting between the teams, 69-68, in Hamilton on Jan. 27.

SCOUTING COLGATE (8-18, 4-8)
The Raiders dropped to 8-18 overall and 4-8 in the Patriot League with a 69-49 loss at Bucknell on Sunday afternoon. It was Colgate's second straight loss and eliminates them from contention to host a quarterfinal game in the Patriot League Tournament.
Senior guard Kyle Roemer (Martinez, Calif.) is Colgate's leading scorer and second in the Patriot League with 18.8 ppg, while sophomore Yaw Gyawu (Lilburn, Ga.) is averaging 14.7 ppg. Roemer is averaging 5.3 rpg, while classmate Ben Jonson (Dallas, Texas) is averaging 5.0 rpg. Freshman point guard Mitch Rolls (Coffeyville, Kan.), leads the team in assists with 89 and is fifth in the Patriot League with 3.44 apg.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS (8-19, 5-7)
The Crusaders kept their chances to host a game in the Patriot League quarterfinals alive with a 64-51 win at home over American on Sunday. Holy Cross improved to 8-19 overall and 5-7 in the Patriot League, pulling into a fifth-place tie. The Crusaders are two games behind third-place Lafayette and Navy.
The Crusaders are led by Devin Brown and R.J. Evans who average 13.4 ppg and 13.2 ppg, respectively. Two other Crusaders average 10 points per game including Andrew Keister, the Patriot League/Anaconda Player of the Week, who averages 10.1 ppg and 9.4 rpg.

SCORING DUOS
Colgate continues to get solid production from its prolific scoring duo. The Raiders boast two of the top six scorers in the Patriot League, with Kyle Roemer (18.8 ppg) second, and Yaw Gyawu (14.7) sixth.

ROEMER GOES OVER 1,500
Kyle Roemer became just the 19th player in Patriot League history to go over 1,500 career points. Roemer passed the mark during a 31-point effort against Navy, and now occupies 13th place in League annals with 1,584 points. He became just the seventh player in Colgate history with 1,500 points, and first since Adonal Foyle with 1,500 points and 400 rebounds. Roemer is also climbing the Patriot League record book for three-pointers made with 255, for eighth.

ROLLING TO THE FINISH
Point guard Mitch Rolls is heating-up during the second half of the Patriot League season. Over the last six games Rolls has averaged 10.3 points and 4.66 assists per game. Rolls is also close to 100 assists this season, he would be the first Raider to accomplish that feat since Dave Hardy dished out 120 during the 2002-03 campaign.

THE DAVIS FILE
Head coach Emmett Davis (St. Lawrence, '84) is in his 12th year in charge at Colgate, owning the most wins in school history with 156.
During coach Davis' decade long tenure, the Colgate program has been a model of consistency.  In nine of his 11 seasons, Davis has led the Raiders to either the upper division of the Patriot League standings or advanced the team to the semifinals or finals of the conference tournament.  From 2001-2004 the Raiders finished with three consecutive regular season winning records (2001-02…17-10, 2002-03…14-13, and 2003-04…14-13) and in 2007-08 the Raiders tied the school record for wins in a season with 18.
Davis reached another career milestone in November 2005, as Colgate defeated Matt Doherty's Florida Atlantic team 78-74 earning coach Davis his 100th career victory making him just the fifth coach in school history to win 100 games.

PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT JUST ONE WEEK AWAY
With only two games remaining in the regular season, the 2010 Patriot League Tournament is just around the corner. The event will begin on Wednesday, March 3 with the quarterfinal round, and will be played entirely at home sites. The top four seeds will play host to the quarterfinals, and Bucknell and Lehigh have already locked up two of those spots. The top remaining seed in each bracket will host the semifinal games on March 7, as the League does not re-seed the Tournament. One quarterfinal and one semifinal game will be broadcast on CBS College Sports Network, and the Patriot League Championship is set for March 12 at 4:45 p.m. on ESPN2 at the site of the higher seed.

UP NEXT
Colgate will host Navy for "Senior Day" on Saturday (Feb. 27). The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EST. and will be aired live on Patriot League All-Access.
