SYRACUSE, N.Y. (12/11/10) – Syracuse senior Rick Jackson recorded his eighth double-double of the season to help lead the No. 7 ranked Orange past Colgate 100-43. The Raiders were led by senior co-captain
Joe Hoban (West Chester, Pa.) who recorded his third straight double-digit night scoring 14 points Saturday at the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse (10-0) opened the game with 12-0 run and never looked back as it built a 46-8 halftime lead to win its 45th straight game against the Raiders.
Colgate (0-8) scored 35 points in the second half off 14 from Hoban and six apiece from juniors
Nick Pascale (DeWitt, N.Y.) and
Sterling Melville (Plano, Texas). The 14 points from Hoban are the most a Raider has scored against Syracuse since teammate
Mike Venezia (Westfield, N.J.) poured in 11 during the 2007-08 season.
Sophomore
Brandon James (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) also pitched six points and grabbed five rebounds for Colgate who lost the battle on the boards 46-36. Syracuse had four players score in double digits led by Jackson with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Dion Waiters scored 17.
Colgate will stay on the road next week as it travels to Maine on Sunday, Dec. 19. The game is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
