Kaylee Fifer (Lantana, Texas) helped the Colgate women's volleyball team to a weekend sweep of Army and Holy Cross and earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors.
Fifer had back-to-back matches with 28 assists in each of the two wins over the weekend against Army and Holy Cross. She had great day on the defensive side 12 digs with the Black Knights in town. Fifer has reached double-digits in digs five times this season and has 25 or more assists in 10 times this year. The setter won the weekly award for the first time on Sept. 13 after her performance at the Canisius/Niagara Invitational.
The Raiders sealed up the third seed with the win on Friday night against Army and will face the Black Knights on Saturday night at 6 p.m. in Washington, D.C., as top-seeded American will be hosting the Patriot League Tournament.
Colgate enters the tournament on a six-match win streak. They finished the regular season with 17 wins. The win total ties the team from 2007 for the most under head coach
