Kirsten Lalli made 20 or more saves for the third time
BOX SCORE

LEWISBURG, Pa. (10/30/10) –
Senior captain Kirsten Lalli (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) had another incredible game in net with 20 saves, but Bucknell scored in overtime to send the Colgate field hockey team home with a 3-2 loss in the regular season finale.

Colgate (5-11, 2-3 PL) will enter the Patriot League Tournament as the fourth seed. The effort from the Raiders was there all game long, including on the defensive end. Senior Laura Denenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) and sophomore Kendall Zaharris (Baltimore, Md.) each scored with Zaharris adding her first of the season.

Bucknell (7-11, 3-2 PL) got the gamewinner from Kelly Bruvik with four seconds left in the first overtime. Rachel Misko and Katie Durkin also scored for the Bison, while Sarah Zargarpour made three saves in net for the victory.

After a scoreless first half, the Bison jumped on top early in the second with Misko scoring 1:03 into the frame. She received a pass from Bruvik to the left of the goal mouth and netted her sixth goal of the season. Colgate answered right back as Zaharris added her first goal of the season to tie the game just 1:49 following the Bucknell score. She was able to connect on a shot from the right side of the circle and the ball found its way to the back of the net.

Then Denenga gave Colgate its first lead of the contest at the 25:42 mark of the half with a nice breakaway goal. She was challenged by Zargarpour at the top of the circle on the breakaway, and Denenga was able to shift around the goalkeeper and hit the open net for her team-leading ninth of the season, which adds to her career-high this season.

Bucknell wasn't fazed by the sudden lead for the Raiders and came back five minutes later to even the score at 2-2 on Durkin's goal. The initial shot by Bruvik was kicked aside by Lalli, but a diving Durkin got a hold of the rebound and she tied the score.

Colgate then held on to force overtime as the Bison put seven shots on net and Lalli pushed aside six of those shots. The lone shot Lalli didn't save was stopped by senior captain Allison Waugh (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.), and she was credited with a huge defensive save to keep the game tied.

Bucknell dominated the overtime with a 9-1 shot advantage and on the ninth shot of extra time as Bruvik got a centering pass from Corrine Raczek, beating Lalli for the gamewinner to close out the game at 3-2.

The Raiders were outshot 38-8 in the contest and helped Bucknell earn 15 penalty corners to their four on the afternoon.

Colgate will take on the top-seeded American Eagles, who defeated Lafayette for the regular-season title by a 3-1 score. The game will take place on Nov. 5 on American's campus.
