The teams played evenly up until Army took an 8-7 lead. The Black Knights then opened it up with a short 4-0 run to push the lead to 12-7. Maureen Colligan (Odessa, Fla.) in the set. Army took the 1-0 lead with a 25-21 win in the set.
The second set ended with the same result at 25-21 in favor of the Black Knights, but they had to fight in the middle of the match to put away the Raiders. Colgate had its largest lead at 7-2 thanks to kills from junior

Once the Black Knights got the lead, they were home free and Colgate couldn't close the gap to less than three.
Colgate was able to get an early lead in the third set with a 7-4 advantage on two kills from Dougherty and one by rookie
