The Raiders will host defending Patriot League champion Lehigh this Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. on Cotterell Court. Colgate will then travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to take on Bucknell this weekend on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.
Scouting the Mountain Hawks
Lehigh is 2-1 in the Patriot League after the first full week of conference play, tied for second place along with Army and Lafayette and sitting just behind undefeated American. The Mountain Hawks hold a 15-3 mark overall with their only losses coming to a ranked Vanderbilt squad back in November, along with Princeton and American in their league opener. Erica Prosser leads Lehigh in scoring recording an average of 15.8 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Alex Ross and Emily Gratch are each averaging double-digit scoring efforts with Ross picking up 12.4 points and Gratch 10.9 points per game. Sophomore Tricia Smith leads the team in rebounding averaging 6.8 boards per game followed by Alexa Williams who pulls down 6.1 rebounds per game. Head coach Sue Troyan is in her 15th season at the helm of the women's basketball program. Last year, Troyan won her second Patriot League title after finishing the regular season 23-6 overall and 12-2 in the league.
Scouting the Bison
Bucknell is off to a 0-3 start in the Patriot League and 4-12 overall. The Bison' only wins came against Fordham, Loyola (Md.), Lycoming and Cornell, with their last win against the Big Red, 69-55, coming on Jan. 6. Leading Bucknell in scoring is Trisha Krewson scoring an average of 11.3 points per game, followed by Joyce Novacek with 10.6 points per game. Novacek also leads the team in rebounding averaging 7.5 boards while Cosima Higham pulls down 7.1 rebounds per game. Kathy Fedorjaka is in her 13th season as head coach of the Bucknell women's basketball program, leading the Bison to a regular season record of 16-11 overall during the 2009 season.
Last Time Out
The Raiders split their two league matches last week, earning their first Patriot League win, 71-63, at Lafayette followed by an 80-58 rout by American at Cotterell Court. Tayler Wejnert (Ramsey, N.J.) and Jhazmine Lynch (San Diego, Calif.) led Colgate against the Leopards with 14 points apiece. Senior Katie Garman (Poplar Grove, Ill.) had a team-high 11 points in the loss against American and Lynch added 10 points for the Raiders. Colgate enters this week with a 6-11 overall record and a 1-2 mark in the league.
Series vs. Lehigh/Bucknell
Lehigh – The Mountain Hawks hold a slight advantage in the all-time series, 26-21, winning the last eight consecutive meetings including a 78-54 win in the first round of the 2009 Patriot League Tournament. Colgate's last win came in 2005-06 when they split the series, earning a 71-69 overtime victory in their first meeting. Junior

Bucknell – The Bison lead the all-time series 33-18, winning the last four consecutive meetings against the Raiders. Colgate last defeated Bucknell, 69-62, at the 2007 Patriot League Tournament at Navy. The Bison won both meetings last season including a 53-35 victory at Sojka Pavilion.
Tayler Wejnert scored 15 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds in the Colgate loss.

Leading the Way
Junior Sami Kozlowski is currently leading the Raiders in scoring with an average of 10.7 points and 2.3 assists per game, while sophomore Tricia Oakes is averaging 10.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Rookie Jhazmine Lynch is third in scoring and leads the freshmen class with 9.3 points and 1.6 steals per game. Junior Krista Moser follows Oakes in rebounding averaging 53 per game along with 5.0 points.
Weekly Honors
Colgate freshman Jhazmine Lynch was named the Patriot League Anaconda Rookie of the Week for the week ending Dec. 6. It marked the second time this season that Lynch has been honored with the award. The rookie guard had 21 points, five rebounds, and seven assists last week. Lynch scored 12 points and had four assists against Bryant last Tuesday. On Thursday, she picked up nine points, two steals and three assists. The Rookie of the Week award has gone to a Colgate student-athlete 10 times since the start of last season.
Top Returners
The Raiders return 10 players to this year's squad, including four starters from the 2008-09 season. Junior

Sami Kozlowski who averaged 9.7 points and led the team in steals with 33 in 30 starts with the Raiders.
Tricia Oakes led Colgate on the boards as a freshman, pulling down 6.0 rebounds in 22 games. Sophomore
Candice Green also started in all 30 games for the Raiders last season averaging 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Preseason Picks
The Colgate women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh in the 2010 Patriot League preseason coaches and sports information directors poll. Defending champion Lehigh was selected to repeat this year, with 97 total points and 13-first place votes. Following the Mountain Hawks in order are American (76, 3 first-place), Holy Cross (76), Navy (54), Bucknell (52), Army (50), Colgate (22) and Lafayette (21). Lehigh's Erica Prosser was chosen as the Preseason Player of the Year.
